Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 25 February 2025

Welcome to FIRE For Life! We’re excited to help you on your journey to better health. Before you join our online course, please take a moment to read these Terms & Conditions (T&C). They explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and the rules that keep everything running smoothly. By signing up, you agree to follow these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t join the programme.

  1. What We Do

FIRE For Life is an online course designed to help you reverse insulin resistance and improve your metabolic health. Here’s what we offer:

  • Science-backed health education, resources and tips to reverse insulin resistance and related conditions.
  • Online consultations with doctors, health coaches, professional nurses and other professionals.
  • A platform where you can share your health info (like blood pressure, blood sugar, or medical history) with us and track your progress.

We’re based in South Africa, but our programme is open to people worldwide.

  1. Who Can Join
  • You must be 18 years or older to sign up.
  • This programme is for people who want to improve their health. It’s not a replacement for emergency medical care or your regular doctor.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your participation if we think the programme isn’t a good fit for you (e.g., for safety or legal reasons).
  1. How It Works
  • Sign-Up: When you join, you’ll need to provide some basic info (like your name and email) and agree to these T&Cs.
  • Health Info: You’ll share regular health updates – things like blood sugar levels, blood pressure, or lab results – so we can support you. We encourage daily updates for best results, but you can share at least weekly. You’re responsible for making sure this info is accurate.
  • Consultations: You’ll have online interaction with our life coaches (for motivation and lifestyle support), professional nurses, and doctors. These are meant to guide you, not to replace your local healthcare provider.
  • Your Effort: This programme works best if you follow the advice and tips we give. Results aren’t guaranteed – they depend on your commitment and unique health situation.
  1. Your Responsibilities
  • Be honest about your health info. We can only help you based on what you tell us.
  • Use the programme for yourself only – don’t share your account or our materials with others.
  • Respect our team and other participants. No rude or harmful behaviour.
  • Follow any laws that apply to you (e.g., about privacy or telehealth in your country).
  1. Payments
  • Payments are made online via credit card or by submitting claims to your medical aid fund, if eligible under your plan. All fees are in South African Rand (ZAR).
  • We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee from your sign-up date if you’re not satisfied – just email us at info@fireforlife.health. After 30 days, no refunds apply for payments already made.
  • If your payment fails, we may pause your access until it’s sorted out.
  1. Privacy & Your Health Information

We take your privacy seriously and follow strict rules to protect your info, including South Africa’s POPIA, the EU’s GDPR, the U.S.’s HL7 standards, and other laws that apply.

  • What We Collect: Your name, contact details, and health info you share (like blood sugar or medical history).
  • How We Use It: To run the programme, give you personalised advice, and improve our services.
  • Who Sees It: Only our trained team (life coaches, nurses, doctors, and staff) who need it to help you. We don’t share it with anyone else unless you say it’s okay or the law requires it.
  • Your Rights: You can ask to see, update, or delete your info anytime – just email us at info@fireforlife.health. Check our Privacy Policy for more details.
  1. Medical Disclaimer
  • We’re here to educate and support you, but we’re not your doctor. Our advice and consultations don’t replace your local professional medical care.
  • Our health professionals are registered in South Africa, follow the ethical codes of our professional boards (like the HPCSA and SANC), and stay within their scope of practice. They provide consultations from South Africa under this country’s regulations. If your country requires telehealth professionals to be registered locally, we’ll offer general health education only and, if you request, provide clinical recommendations through your own healthcare provider. They are not licensed in your country unless stated otherwise, so please consult a local provider for prescriptions or regulated medical care.
  • Always talk to your own healthcare provider before making big changes to your diet, exercise, or medication.
  • If you have a medical emergency, get help right away from your local healthcare provider.
  1. Our Rights
  • We can update these T&Cs anytime. If we do, we’ll let you know by email or on our website. Keep using the programme, and it means you agree to the new terms.
  • We own the course materials (videos, guides, etc.). You can use them for your personal learning, but don’t copy, share, or sell them.
  • We can suspend or end your access if you break these rules or if we need to for legal or safety reasons.
  1. What We’re Not Responsible For
  • We’ll do our best to keep the programme running smoothly, but we can’t promise it’ll be perfect (e.g., tech glitches happen).
  • We’re not liable for health issues that come from following (or not following) our advice – your health is your responsibility. Our doctors carry local medical insurance in South Africa and Namibia for their practice.
  • If something goes wrong (like a data breach or service outage), we’ll fix it as fast as we can, but we’re not responsible for losses beyond our control.
  1. Cancelling the Programme
  • By You: You can stop anytime by emailing us at info@fireforlife.health. Refunds are only available within the first 30 days as per our guarantee.
  • By Us: We can cancel the programme if we need to (e.g., not enough participants or legal issues). If we do, we’ll refund any unused portion of your fees.
  1. Disputes
  • These T&Cs follow South African law since that’s where we’re based.
  • If we have a disagreement, let’s try to sort it out by talking first. If that doesn’t work, it’ll be handled in a South African court.
