DAY #4 | FAT IS FEUL: FUEL ME UP, SCOTTY!

Welcome to the fourth day of our journey to FIRE Diabetes In 40 Days.

Imagine you could get hold of a fuel that was twice as powerful as the stuff you run your car on right now, but only produced half the waste.  You’d be keen to try it, right?  Greater efficiency, while caring for the environment.

What if I told you that fuel exists? What is more, you already have it on board. No need to stop at the gas station first.

Today, we look at fat as super fuel and the role of ketosis and ketones in reversing Type 2 diabetes. We also provide a brief overview of the different types of low-carb diets that are out there and how the FIRE Lifestyle is different.

WARNING: If you are taking SGLT2 inhibitors, such as dapagliflozin (Forxiga, Farxiga), empagliflozin (Jardiance) and canagliflozin (Invokana, Sulisent, Prominad), a low-carb diet such as the FIRE diet can result in ketoacidosis. If your doctor has not yet stopped these drugs, please contact him/her immediately before proceeding with the FIRE journey!
