Welcome to the first day of our journey to FIRE Diabetes in 40 Days.

Our theme for today is Figuring Out Diabetes: It’s The Insulin Resistance, Stupid!

From today, you will see a new link in your daily FIRE Away To-Do List. This is your Daily Check-In.

“If you don’t measure it, you can’t move it.”

Those who submit their Daily Check-In reports every day get more out of FIRE Diabetes than anybody else.  If you’re serious about firing Diabetes, please take 3 minutes every day to complete this form. It’s time invested in your future self. Here you have the opportunity to record biomarkers (e.g. weight, morning fasting glucose and ketone levels, blood pressure and pulse) and to report on symptoms you are experiencing. If you don’t have equipment to do these measurements, don’t worry. Only do what you can do. Even if you cannot complete the form on a specific day, please tell us that.

In addition to the Daily Check-In, we will ask you to continue building your very own health record on certain days. This health record is a bit like the foundation of a house.  At the end of our 40 day journey, you will have a rock-solid foundation to support your future health.  Instead of taking an hour or more to complete the entire health record, we’re doing it in little chunks. Your time is precious and we respect that. Please do not skip the health record forms. Imagine walking away after the 40 days are over, and having a complete snapshot of your health in your pocket (or on your computer or phone).  Once you see the complete picture, you will be glad you invested the time.

  1. Daily Check-In. Before you add your information, measure the following: 
  • Weigh
  • Fasting morning blood glucose (if you have a monitor)
  • Fasting morning ketone levels (if you have a monitor)
  • Blood pressure (if you have a machine)
  • Pulse rate
